Funky Hues at Interior Design
Interior Design loves the Bevel Table, citing its brass-plated steel with brushed finish and stained mahogany veneer exterior.
What's not to love? We love Interior Design too.

IDS 2014
Today I’m (FINALLY) sharing my Interior Design Show 2014 experience with you. I took many photos and picked up many cards/brochures and I’ve managed to whittle it down to my absolute faves for your perusal.

Marketplace: Fine design at IDS-14
If you want to know what’s up-and-coming in Canadian interior design, or what’s just plain cool, Toronto’s annual Interior Design Show was the place to be. Held Jan. 23-26 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, this year’s offering showcased a wild array of all things design and decor from more than 300 exhibitors. Here’s just a sampling.
Sturdy sidekick: Looking like it should collapse, the Bevel occasional table is made from a brass-plated metal sleeve encased in mahogany to give it strength while maintaining a natural beauty. Used as a coffee or side table, the open ends allow for easy storage.

Rodenhook Modular Shelving by OF | Design
One of our favorite designs spotted at this year's Architectural Digest Home Design Show was the modular Rodenhook shelving system from designer Martin O'Flynn of Brooklyn-based Of Design. A simple (but beautiful) system of powder-coated steel shelves and wall-mounted brushed stainless steel rods provide a foundation for this sleek display shelving...The shelves are 10" deep and are available in various 24" lengths that rest on the steel rods that are mounted 24" apart. Martin mentioned that new shelving shapes are in the works to add to the collection.

Where's the Green?
I stopped by the Architectural Digest Home Design Show this past Saturday and despite the anemic economy, Manhattan’s Pier 94 was packed to the gills with exhibitors, the design trade, and the interiors-loving general public. I’m unsure how much commerce was actually going down, but all appeared to be copasetic...
...Showing with Scott was Irish designer Martin O’Flynn (another designer with Red Hook connections…it must be something in the water down here) from OF Design. I wasn’t familiar with O’Flynn’s work but if I had had the ability to sneak away with his Nu Coffee Table in my brochure-filled tote bag, I would have. It was gorgeous.

Thumbs Up from Swiss Miss
The Rodenhook Modular Shelving System gets my swissmiss thumbs up. While I am not crazy about those angled shelve modules, I could definitely see this system in use with only the ‘regular’ ones in someone’s ‘soon to be the moved into’ new office space. Ladies? The gentleman in the picture is Martin O’Flynn, the mastermind behind this beauty of a shelfing system.
